Inside a Bakery along the Via Dolorosa – The Entrance to the Byzantine Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre

Every Friday, here in Jerusalem, the Franciscan friars pray the Way of the Cross along the 14 stations of the Via Dolorosa.

As we walk between the stations along the streets of old Jerusalem, we glorify our Lord and his Son by singing and praying so we do not pay too much attention to other interesting places as we pass them by.  One interesting place, is an Ancient Gate that is considered to be one of the entrance to the FIRST Byzantine Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre.

I can not blame anyone for not stopping and looking at this Gate…. since NO one can actually see it as he walks along the Via Dolorosa. The gate is inside an ancient room within a BAKERY!. Yes, that is right. The gate is within a back room inside a Bakey!

The Bakery is located right between station number 8 and station number 9 of the Via Dolorosa as we start our ascent to the Coptic area outside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

If you happen to visit Jerusalem, I highly recommend you to look for it. Until then, you can watch it in my Video above.

Enjoy the Video and do not forget to pray the “Way of the Cross” – it will open your hart to JESUS!
